Dutch Novelist Finds Literally Lost Novel

Some lost novels are works that have disappeared during the vagaries. But Dutch novelist Hella Haasse had literally misplaced a novel that had run as a newspaper serial in 1950. It seems, though, that the writer, who has published more than 50 books, had cut out the installments and saved them in "this incredible pile of paper at home." Haasse finally came across the parts, sent them as a joke to her regular book editor, and then found the joke was on her as he said he wanted to publish it.
