Review: Welch's Sparkling Grape Juice Cocktail

When the dried fruit and cherries from Welch's arrived, along with them came a bottle of sparkling grape juice cocktail. The bottle was supposed to be specially decorated for the winter holidays, and it was. I only wish that the contents were as pleasing as the packaging. Check the label, and while juice is the first ingredient, it's followed by water and corn syrup, so you're getting a watered-down liquid. The "little bit of 'sparkle'" promised by the PR materials was overly aggressive and harsh. The suggested retail price is $3.69 for one bottle, or $6.99 for a two-pack. If you or some kids want something vestive other than wine, go for sparkling grape juice, or mix some straight juice with club soda.
