Review: New Oreo Packaging

My family and I have nothing against Oreos. In fact, we're fond of them. One problem, though, has been the packaging. Open it, and they start turning soggy. (It's made me wonder if they're actually what is inside those little packets that are supposed to keep products dry up until you buy them.)

In the past we've put them into a Snapware container (which are great, by the way, and airtight), but the company has come out with a resealable package. You pull open a flap on the top, take out cookies, and then set it back into place, where it reseals. And it does - once or twice. But the adhesive gets gummed up with dust, stray hairs, and the rest of life's effluvia. Suddenly that flap is just ... flapping. It's probably just some gimmick that will be on for a few months before they whisk it away into the Closet of Ill-Conceived and Ill-Executed Ideas.

Comments:
In some households, a package of Oreos wouldn't last long enough to get soggy. Not this household, of course. Here the snack-food weaknesses run more to choc chip cookies and certain kinds of chips. Besides, in Colorado where it's so dry, sogginess is rarely an issue.

Maybe you got a bad seal? I tried the Oreos with the new packaging and found that the seal on the flap worked well for several sneaky raids on the package (guilty!).
